     In   In 1993, I graduated from The University of Michigan Law School, ranked in the top 5 (along with Yale, Harvard, Columbia and Stanford) of the over 365 law schools in this country. I speak and write Spanish fluently.                 

     I have personally handled 213 criminal law trials to verdict as defense counsel. Most of my jury trials involve the most serious classes of charges like homicides and attempted homicides, firearm offenses and armed felonies, robberies, rapes and molestations, kidnapings, aggravated batteries and assaults, manslaughter, and drug distributions & conspiracies.  I am an experienced evaluator of forensic evidence, like DNA, firearm ballistics, fingerprints, witness identification procedures, and sexual battery exams.  I have handled all classes of sentence enhancements including Habitualization, Career Criminal, Prison Releasee Reoffender, Mandatory Minimums, and 10-20-Life gun laws.

     I fully evaluate each case for appropriate pre trial motions to suppress or exclude evidence, motions to dismiss charges, or motions to depart from the guidelines. I am willing to go to trial if it is in your best interests to do so, and fight for a not guilty.  I am qualified and experienced to protect your valuable rights during all stages of a criminal case: Pretrial Motions; Evidentiary Hearings; Jury Trials; Appeals; Post Conviction Relief.  

     In addition to federal and state criminal court representation, we are also qualified, experienced, and fully staffed to handle personal injury and auto accident cases; immigration law cases (visas, permanent residency, citizenship & removal or deportation defense); social security disability claims and appeals; and foreclosure defense.

     I am a Tampa Bay native and a graduate of the University of South Florida. I earned my Juris Doctorate at Emory University School of Law, the premier law school in the southeastern United States. While at Emory, I interned for a full year at Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE), where I learned all aspects of immigration defense , including formal hearings before the immigration courts, and matters before the board of immigration appeals. 

     As an Assistant State Attorney in Hillsborough County I have participated in approximately sixty jury trials including criminal traffic, misdemeanor, and felony cases.

     I am a member of the Florida Bar and the Federal Bar for the Middle District of Florida and am fully prepared to represent clients in a range of state and federal litigation settings.
